Trained at the world-renowned Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Sally has worked in gouache, pen and ink, collage, oil pastels, acrylics and most extensively in watercolours. With a unique and colourful style, she enjoys working on varied subjects, including coastal, beach and mountain scenes, and woodland, buildings and boats. Much of her artistic inspiration comes from the beautiful scenery and old townscapes of Scotland, especially around the Moray Firth, West Coast and Fife, but she has also spent two years in Norway, painting the rugged mountain and fjord scenery as well as the colourful Norwegian buildings.
Many of Sally's original paintings have been sold direct to buyers or were specially commissioned, but she has also shown her art in a variety of galleries and other venues, including in London, Stavanger and around the north of Scotland. A regular exhibitor in previous Nairn Book and Arts Festival events, her originals and limited edition signed prints have often gone to overseas buyers. Sally has also developed an extensive range of fine-art cards featuring scenes taken from her originals, including of Norway, and she is now offering art tuition. You can find out more about the tuition on offer by visiting the Tuition page, where you can also finds news and updates including ideas about what you can get from professional tuition.
